Reader reviewed by abscae I have to admit, I hate novels conveyed solely through messages because it makes the emotion in the novel harder to find, and decipher.

Yet I also have to admit that I love the book, despite my finickiness. Kate, on the order of her boss Amy Jenkins, ends up firing the lovely Ida the much-loved desert-cart lady at the office because Ida refuses to give desert to Stuart.

In return, Ida sues the company. Here enters Mitch, the ever-delish lawyer, brother of Stuart. However, Mitch is so cold-hearted, so when Amy who's engaged to Stuart places the blame on Kate, Mitch backs Kate up with lawyerly style. Charming and witty, this is a must read of a book. At times it made me frown, but mostly it made me smile that crazy smile.

The main story is: Katy is working for a horrible boss who gets her to fire the ever-so-popular dessert lady. She then gets tangled up in a complicated court case involving the termination of the dessert lady's job which ends with Katy being fired.

Where does the boy come in? Well, the lawyer who's brother got the dessert lady fired is extremely cute and Katy simply cannot resist despite the fact that he is working for corporations whom she hates and kind of got her fired A awesome vaction read. March 24, Reader reviewed by Ruby When Melissa's neighbour is stuck in a coma, and she is about to loose her job because Paco, the great daine, has to go pee about 4 times a day, and Melissa needs to walk Paco before her work starts, and Human Resource isn't too happy, nor is her boss.

Finally Melissa gets contact with a world renound photographer, Max Friedlander, and asks if he could stop work for a few months and walk the dog so she can get on with her life. Max says sure whatever, but tells his best friend who owes him something to do it for him. Jason, Max's friend plays the part as Max, but when Jason and Melissa are getting closer, a big wave hits, and makes Jason regret what he had done. January 07, Reader reviewed by artemis All of Meg Cabot's books are the same: boy meets girl, boy falls for girl, boy asks girl out, boy and girl have issues and boy wins girl at the end.

Doesn't catch my interest. No surprises or nothing. Just the same thing all over again. This book is no different. It's not funny or memorable.

I forgot about it as soon as I finished it. A Fun Read. December 18, Reader reviewed by Debjani Mitra This book, told by emails, instant messages, journal entries and phone messages is definitely one of the best books I read this month. After getting fired, when Ida sues the company, that's when Amy meets the lawyer, Mitchell. And the love story begins July 26, Reader reviewed by galaxygirl Another great book my Meg Cabot!

This is an adult fiction novel that is written in email format. It was hard to get ito but once I did I really enjoyed reading it. A little romance and comedy and you got what I call a successful book.

May 27, Reader reviewed by Nurin In this book Kate, who works for the Huiman Resource center, has to fire one of the staff's favortie employess of all time because Ida the employeee refuses to serve Amy kate's boss a piece of pie.

Ida understands of course but, as she belongs to a union, she sues. Amy's lawyer is her fiancee's younger brother. But when Amy fires Kate as well its up to Mitch and Kate's loyal friends to reinstate her and fire the evil boss I reccomend this to all romance lovers.

Meg Does this over and over. May 04, Reader reviewed by Emily Wooden I liked the book and all that, although I feel Meg has used up this kind of story and I found it hard to bond with the characters.

Although I found myself kinda liking Sean for her headstrongness. Fun, fun, and outgoing! April 09, Reader reviewed by Dylana This book never really received much praise, but I got toally involved in the whole story line.

It was so much fun and had me laughing outloud! I loved the main character, Kate Mackenzie, a young, bright, and innocent country girl. She's a human resource rep. Kate has to give a desposition with Ida's the baker lawyer, Mitchel Hertzog. But he's so cute and she really really likes him. But he's the opposition, but he's also on Kate's side, who didn't even want Ida fired in the first place! All this because of Kate's mean and bossy boss. It's so fun to read all this through Kate's emails, phone messages, letters, notes, and diary entries.

You'll surely be entertained. Read to find out what happens to Kate and Mitch's relationship! This book is hooking and keeps you reading little parts of it all day long.

A Great Summer Romance. July 20, The entire office, including her best friend Jen, hates their boss, Amy Jenkins. When the dessert lady, Ida Lopez, is fired after refusing to serve a piece of key lime pie to the company lawyer, Stuart Hertzog, Kate is caught up involuntarily in the big mess.

Ida Lopez decides to sue Amy and Kate for wrongful termination. Since Stuart cant take on the case, he is personally involved with Amy the case is taken over by Stuarts younger brother, Mitchell.

When Kate newly free from her bf, Dale meets Mitchell, she begins to fall for his looks and charm. But Dale seems to interfere in Kates life. Finally, when Kate thinks that things are going well, she ends up being fired from her job for allegedly making up lies about Amy.

Mitch is blamed for the big mess. I absolutely loved it. It was humorous and romantic at the same time. The characters were so developed that I either hated the character Stuart or loved them Mitch.

I wish that Mitch were real, lol. All Meg Cabot and non Meg Cabot fans have to pick up this book.

Book recommendation: Boy Meets Girl, by Meg Cabot

I have another book authored by Meg Cabot to recommend today! That said, you could read Boy Meets Girl on its own without a problem. So, what did I like about Boy Meets Girl? Well, a lot of the same things that I liked in Boy Next Door: the humour, the light-hearted romance, the little, realistic details. Like a whole lot of Charmed references, which brought back some memories for me.

Not only is the premise similar two goody-goody single young people meet up and fall in love , but it also follows a non-traditional format. While The Boy Next Door was made up completely of emails sent back and forth between the characters, Boy Meets Girl incorporates not only emails but phone messages, notes, memos and, most annoyingly, journal entries by the main character. Unfortunately, while The Boy Next Door was fresh, original and altogether heartwarming, Boy Meets Girl comes across as a bad imitation of it.

Chooseday Tuesday: Meg Cabot “Boy Meets Girl”

The last thing anybody — least of all Kate Mackenzie — expects to find in a legal arbitration is love. This is my first review as a part of Chooseday Tuesday, where you choose the book I read and review the following week. I was definitely excited that Boy Meets Girl was the first pick, because Meg Cabot is one of my favourite authors. First off, this is the story of Kate Mackenzie, a woman in her mid-twenties who works in human resources because she wants to make a difference, and this job suits her purpose like, it pays the bills, and her best friend works there, so why not. And now, her much-despised boss has demanded she fire a beloved dessert-cart woman, Ida, which leads to the main plotline: a breach of contract suit that introduces our love interest, Mitch.

Kate Mackenzie, an idealistic HR representative at the New York Journal , has just been forced by her evil boss, Amy Jenkins, to fire Ida Lopez, the wildly popular dessert cart lady at the company cafeteria. Ida bakes delectable goodies, but she won't serve them to priggish Stuart Hertzog, the paper's legal counsel, who happens to be engaged to Amy, known as the T.

Boy Meets Girl by Meg Cabot fits into the romance fiction genre and was published in It is recommended for adult readers. Boy Meets Girl is the second book in the Boy series but it is nothing like the first.

It was first published in January, by HarperCollins , with the author name of "Meggin Cabot"; subsequent printings say "Meg Cabot". It is the second book in the Boy series, but its story is only loosely connected to that of its predecessor, The Boy Next Door. She spends much of her days trying to find a good apartment, attempting to avoid her dictator-esque boss Amy, and trying to sort out her complicated relationship with a commitment-phobic boyfriend. Kate begins to despair once Amy forces her to fire an incredibly popular co-worker in one of the office's lunch rooms, which results in the employee suing her for wrongful termination.

Boy Meets Girl
