As these students enter the workforce or are in non school environments, having the same language and expectations provides a more conditioned response. Additionally, this protocol enables rapid response determination when an unforeseen event occurs.
The protocol also allows for a more predictable series of actions as an event unfolds. An intruder event may start as a Lockdown, but as the intruder is isolated, first responders might transition parts of the building to an Evacuation. National SRP Dashboard.

By Mary Kate McGrath. Across the United States, establishing a standardized protocol for active assailant and other emergency situations is becoming a powerful safety strategy in K12 settings. The "I Love You Guys" school safety protocol is one being used in Colorado, and can integrate with other school safety technology such as a panic button app. Response training is becoming increasingly common in a variety of settings, including higher education institutions, private organizations, and healthcare facilities. However, finding a response strategy which is a good fit for K12 can prove more difficult, as it must consider a variety of emergency situations, including severe weather, and consider the best way to address these risks for teachers and students.
If an emergency happens at a school or an office, there usually is not much time to warn students, employees and guests about what is happening or what to do. Unlike previous emergency plans developed by the District, SRP is not based on individual scenarios, but rather on the response to any given scenario. All sites must plan, coordinate, exercise, and respond accordingly to potential incidents that threaten their students, staff, and facilities. To assist site administrators, Douglas County School District utilizes a system called Standard Response Protocol SRP to guide administrators, staff, classrooms, and individual students through standardized responses regardless of the threat.
First of all, thank you for an excellent and enjoyable day. With 40 years in law enforcement, disaster, and safety work, I have been through literally thousands of hours of in-service and CE courses over the years. We will incorporate this change into all of our resources and toolkits over the next several months. The K Standard Response Protocol SRP Toolkit offers guidance and resources for incorporating the Standard Response Protocol into a school safety plan, for critical incident response within individual schools in a school district. The intent of this toolkit is to provide basic guidance with respect for local conditions and authorities. The only mandate presented is that districts, agencies and departments retain the "Terms of Art" and "Directives" defined by this protocol. SRP is not a replacement for any school safety plan or program. It is simply a classroom response enhancement for critical incidents, designed to provide consistent, clear, shared language and actions among all students, staff and first responders.

Henri Frederic Amiel. Today we feel called upon to put to use this core competency in the new context of COVID as many of our stakeholders deal with shutdowns, delays, meal distribution needs, and more. As we manage emerging practices for students and staff currently out of school, the "I Love U Guys" Foundation has created the Standard Distribution Method for distributing food and learning materials. Ideally these tools can help schools and districts share meals and learning tools while practicing social distancing or quarantine. Engage on social media here:.
